Cut & Fill

Swaths

Geoplastic Landscaping
Geoplastic is the creation of artificial topography and its harmonic transformation into green areas with interesting and artistic forms. There is a boundless diversity of original design solutions for playgrounds and its transformation into magical places that came out of a book – caves, ruins and more. Terracing
Terracing is the process of shaping the horizontal surfaces. In many cases is necessary to reinforce the by retaining walls. In designing future gardens, the first phase is to build a vertical terrain layout. The garden development requires the construction of the horizontal terraces for planting and grassing purposes. The overall alignment of the terrain is dysfunctional. This is why a hand full of different terracing methods is required. This functional solution sustains the modeling of the terrain and the protection of the soils erosion by constructing retaining walls or gabions.

Retaining Walls
Retaining walls are practical, but also have a decorative function and are often used in areas with slopes and steep terrains. They allow the construction of flat surface through alternating few low retaining walls. Because of that, the slope of the park can be easily and evenly distributed. The selection of materials, configuration and size of the retaining wall depends on the conceptual solution for the garden.

Gabions
Constructions, build of stone that are limited to rectangular or spherical forms by galvanized wire mesh are called gabions. They can be made of extensive assortment of shapes and sizes. They can be also filled with stones, rocks or other materials. With this type of wall it is possible to plant perennial flowers, grasses and small shrubs in the joints between the stones. There can be also a variety of decorative elements, such as ornamental bricks, decorative concrete blocks or wooden beams, embedded between the stones. Gabions can be used as retaining walls, as well as a decorative effect in the designing of playgrounds, water effects, sound proof walls, facades, columns, fences, benches, tables, stools and more.

Drainage is a process of natural or artificial removal of the surface and sub-surface water from the area. This can be accomplished by a diversity of drainage systems.

Drainage Pits
Drainage pits are the perfect way to spot drainage areas of various sizes. The pit-traps are aesthetic way to incorporate water from the water pipes in the underground sewer system. They are designed to create a water jacket in them. This prevents the release of odors from the sewer network. Put-traps save the construction of additional drainage for rainwater – it is possible to be discharged directly into sewers.

Ditches
Ditches are used for removal of water from one place to another. A ditch can be closed or open-ditch type. The closed type is more likely to because thus depriving itself of cleaning the ditch, the open type ditches require the placement of additional grid that prevents from clogging of the gutter.

Waterproofing
Waterproofing of the basic layers is one of the most important factors responsible for the long lasting operation of buildings and facilities. It provides an additional protection from the harmful effects of surface and groundwater.

However, they must have some basic features in addition to the above. They should be long lasting and resistant to any changes from their original shapes and sizes, retaining their look over time.
Among the largest groups are those of natural stones – marble, limestone, etc. They are stable and steady over time, but require special alignment and joints during the installation process, seeking the effect of rarely repeatable stone shapes. Terracotta and porcelain tiles come to another large group of external surfaces. They come in a palette of shapes and sizes and require special grouts to compensate for the thermal expansion.

Another separate, but relatively popular group outdoor flooring are those made of natural wood. These include teak wood, larch and other expensive and exotic wood materials. The natural wood grains moisture and is not sustainable to UV radiation. A proper treatment with mineral oils, linseed oils or vanishes is required. Besides the common type of wood flooring, it can be also used as a path with grass strips in the green area. This wood effect will create a beautiful and aesthetic detail in the green space. Often used in the construction of playgrounds.

Outdoor furniture is a necessity and a very practical aesthetic element in the green areas. These details help transitioning the interior to an exterior, allowing longer enjoyment and relaxation outdoors.
Often and commonly used outdoor furniture are benches, bins, decorative fountains, tents and sheds, pavilions and others.

Such are the dry gardens and rivers, rock gardens, pergolas, barbecues, wells, bridges and last, but not least – children’s facilities and playgrounds.

Dry gardens are quite common and sought to decorate the garden landscape. Their lifelike setting resembles a miniature mountain landscape with rocks and canyons, waterfalls and dry rivers. The focus element here is the colorful vegetation. The best effect is obtained by creating a harmonious composition of stone and water.

The gardens are created from living materials, such as flowers, grasses, shrubs and trees. The content and the outside look of the green areas complements the different structures, called small architectural forms. They saturate the space and give comfort. Without these small details the garden will have a rough and unfinished design. Above all, they have a practical function.

The outdoor rooms are created by mixing and combining floorings, ceilings, walls and doors into the yard space. The garden room can be built by using wooden fences, brick masonry, low and high free standing walls and stone retaining walls. Could be layered on different levels with different types of flooring.
