Gabions
Constructions, build of stone that are limited to rectangular or spherical forms by galvanized wire mesh are called gabions. They can be made of extensive assortment of shapes and sizes. They can be also filled with stones, rocks or other materials. With this type of wall it is possible to plant perennial flowers, grasses and small shrubs in the joints between the stones. There can be also a variety of decorative elements, such as ornamental bricks, decorative concrete blocks or wooden beams, embedded between the stones. Gabions can be used as retaining walls, as well as a decorative effect in the designing of playgrounds, water effects, sound proof walls, facades, columns, fences, benches, tables, stools and more.
